US and Russia clash at UN Security Council
NEW YORK - At the United Nations Security Council, United States has presented a draft resolution for presidential elections in Venezuela.
The US draft resolution while expressing deep concern over violence and excessive use of force by Venezuelan security forces against protesters called for international aid deliveries in the country.
Meanwhile, Moscow with an alternative resolution, expressed its concern for Venezuela's territorial integrity and political independence.
The US is sponsoring a campaign for international recognition of Venezuelan opposition leader and head of the country's elected legislative body Juan Guaido over President Nicolas Maduro.
