2,000 years old Buddha sculpture from Pakistan displayed for exhibition in Switzerland

ISLAMABAD - Two thousand year old Buddha sculpture from Pakistan has been displayed for exhibition at the Rietberg Museum in Switzerland.

The government of Pakistan loaned the sculpture to Swiss authorities, which was taken out of the country for the first time.

The sculpture titled "Buddha Shakyamuni," over three and a half meters high and almost two tons heavy will be the main highlight at the "Next Stop Nirvana - Approaches to Buddhism" exhibition in Zurich from 12th of this month to 31st of March next year.

The sculpture has been on exhibition in Peshawar Museum since its excavation.
