The White House press secretary was asked during a briefing if US President Joe Biden would call Pakistan's prime minister.
She refrained from answering.
According to the news agency, the press secretary of the White House said that she could not say anything about the telephone at the moment but she said that they are in touch with Pakistan at different levels.
Jane Sackie said the United States supports constitutional and democratic principles.
