UK-Pakistan CCI to invest 200mn pounds in Punjab

LAHORE: A delegation of UK-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its president Amjad Khan called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office here Thursday.
The delegation showed its interest in investment in different sectors and said that they were interested in making an investment in agriculture, livestock, dairy development, tourism, industry, and other sectors.
The new Pakistan is moving towards progress and we want to collaborate in this journey of development.
The delegation disclosed that initial planning had been made to invest 200 million pounds in Punjab and agreements was being executed in this regard.
Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that new Pakistan was opened to the investors.
The UK-based Pakistanis should invest and they would be provided full protection by the government.
Punjab government will provide every possible incentive to the investors because investment ensures development and prosperity.
Roadshow will also be arranged in London under the aegis of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, he said.
Chief Minister said that investors would not face any difficulty and no interference would be allowed in the investment process.
He made it clear that the investment process would not succumb to any bureaucratic problem and any difficulty faced by the investors would be solved on priority basis.
He reiterated that the investment process would not be allowed to halt at any moment and the problems would be dealt on a priority basis.
He said that expatriates loved their country and Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab had been activated to help solve their problems.
Usman Buzdar said that properties of overseas Pakistanis would be protected and added that he would personally monitor the problem-solving mechanism.
The delegation also extended sympathies to the Chief Minister over the death of his father and offered Fateha for the departed soul.
The delegation was comprised of General Secretary of UK-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Waheed-ur-Rehman Mian, Senior Vice President Syed Asad Hussain, Vice President Asim Yousuf, Joint Secretary Sardar Shafqaat Khan, and others.
Provincial Ministers Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Chairman PBIT Sardar Tanvir Ilyas, Chairman P&D, administrative secretaries, office bearers of FPCCI and LCCI and others were also present on the occasion.
