JERUSALEM: Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admits for the first time that Israel committed bombing in Syria several times.
He claimed that Israel launched dozens of strikes on the convoys that were transferring arms and ammunitions to Lebanon’s radical Shiite movement Hezbollah.
Netanyahu said “We act when we need to act, including here across the border, with dozens of strikes meant to prevent Hezbollah from obtaining game-changing weaponry.”
Netanyahu was speaking with Israeli forces during a military exercise at Golan Heights.
He said “We are proud of the fact that in this entire stormy, rough and volatile Middle East, we’ve succeeded in keeping Israel relatively calm and secure.”
Netanyahu said “We are also working on other fronts, near and far, but we do it intelligently.”
Israel has launched intelligence and psychological campaign against Hezbollah who gave a tough time to Israeli forces in Lebanese war in 2006 which lasted for 33 days.
