ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday has expressedresentment over former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s absence from the courtdespite the last court notice.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar heard former PakistanTelevision (PTV) chairman Attaul Haq Qasmi appointment case and inquiredabout Ishaq Dar’s presence but he once again failed to appear before thecourt.
CJP Saqin Nisar directed Interior Secretary to take immediate step to callIshaq Dar back to Pakistan as majority people have completed theirarguments.
He said that Ishaq Dar remained in contact with former Prime Minister NawazSharif in London but not responding to the court summons.
The top judge inquired that who instructed to pay Attaul Haq QasmiRs15,00,000 as monthly income. “Was he eligible for this?” he questioned.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials are present in thecourtroom, the case would be handed over to NAB to investigate either theappointment was legal or not, he continued.
Former finance secretary of Pakistan told the court that Attaul Haq Qasmi’spay summary was sent by information ministry and relative wing reviewed it.
According to the pay summary, ex-MD PTV was receiving Rs 14,00,000 salary,he added.
