KABUL – The Ministry of Defense says at least twenty Afghan soldiers havelost their lives during the clashes with the militants in western Farah andNimroz provinces, Khaama Press has reported.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense Gen. Dawlat Waziri says at least 63militants were killed and 22 others were wounded during the clashes in thetwo provinces.

He said the clashes took place in the past 24 hours and as a result atleast 22 Afghan soldiers have also embraced martyrdom.

Gen. Waziri further added that five Afghan soldiers have also sustainedinjuries during the clashes but did not elaborate further regarding theirhealth condition.
