Deputy Chairman NAB Zahir Shah has suddenly resigned from his post and sent his resignation to Chairman NAB and Prime Minister. However no reasons have been known for his abrupt resignation.
Zahir Shah, previously the director general (operations) of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has been named the acting chairman of NAB following the resignation of Aftab Sultan on Tuesday.
Zahir had previously held the position of deputy chairman since October 2021, with nearly two decades of service at NAB in various key roles. He temporarily assumed the role of acting chairman in June 2022 before Sultan's appointment.
Zahir's appointment as acting chairman, effective from February 22, was announced in a notification on Friday, citing the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999. Sultan's abrupt resignation came after just seven months in the NAB chairman role
