ISLAMABAD - Over the issue of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa reference, Important developments have en reported from Supreme Judicial Council.
Presidential reference proceedings against Supreme Court Judge Qazi Faiz Isa and Sindh High Court Judge Karim Khan Agha have been stopped in the Supreme Judicial Council, Express has reported.
Addressing a function in connection with the inauguration of the new judicial year, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khosa termed the proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council a difficult task.
He said that the constitution gives the President the power to appoint a reference in the Supreme Judicial council to a judge.
Should the Conduct Inquiry be directed, the Supreme Judicial Council cannot ignore this type of constitutional directive, but a complaint against a judge of the SC does not affect the opinion of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Council is independent and empowered in its proceedings.
