LAHORE: Lahore High Court announces verdict against Meesha Shafi, it's embarrassing for the singer cum actor.
Lahore High Court on Friday dismissed a petition filed by singer Meesha Shafi challenging the dismissal of her complaint by Punjab ombudsperson (Protection against harassment of women at workplace) and the governor against musician/actor Ali Zafar on harassment charges.
This was the third time Shafi’s case was dismissed by the Lahore High Court. The appeal was rejected on the basis of not being presented at the appropriate forum.
"It is not necessary for it be sexual harassment to be between an employee and employer," the statement read.
In a post on Twitter Zafar said fake allegations by opportunists could destroy lives and undermine genuine victims. "Ms Shafi’s case dismissed by the Lahore High Court. This is the 3rd dismissal.
