Thar Coal Project: Supreme Court orders NAB to probe

*ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court has asked NAB to probe the Thar Coal Project.*
*SC has ordered on Thursday that a survey should be done of the Thar coal power projects.*
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar ordered NAB to investigate and see where all the money went. The chief justice had earlier taken suo motu notice of the case.
“A feasibility report was prepared for the project — it wasn’t done in the air,” said nuclear scientist and Underground Coal Gasification project Chairperson Dr Samar Mubarakmand.
NAB has been directed to conduct a survey and then submit a report to the court.
The court wants to know how many irregularities took place and how the project incurred losses billions of rupees.
It ordered that Dr Mubarakmand has to be present at every hearing. It also wants the workers of the power projects to present.
