Federal government appoints new Chairman PIA

ISLAMABAD - Federal government has appointed the new Chairman of the Pakistan International Airlines.
Air Marshal Arshad Malik has been appointed as the chairman of Pakistan International Airlines, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry announced on Thursday.
The announcement has come after a cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.
“PIA is in a debt of Rs 406 billion,” said the Information Minister while talking to the media. He added that the national airline faces a debt worth of Rs. 2 billion every month.
“The new chairman of the national carrier has been directed to immediately fix the institution’s economic condition,” he stated.
Notably, Air Marshal Arshad Malik was appointed as the Vice Chief of Air Staff in March 2018.
