National cricket team director Mickey Arthur said, "I fully support Babar; as a captain, I have confidence in his abilities." Discussing the defeat against England, he expressed disappointment, stating that they didn't play good cricket and doubted reaching the semi-finals with that performance.
Arthur emphasized the need to provide players with consistent opportunities, acknowledged the poor bowling, and highlighted the damage to their bowling due to Naseem Shah's injury. He mentioned facing Pakistan with whatever comes their way, expressing his love for the Pakistani cricket team, as he came to Pakistan on Najam Sethi's invitation.
Arthur clarified that they don't advocate playing according to modern-day cricket but assertively promote aggressive cricket even in Tests. Regarding the match against Bangladesh, he noted a good finish and highlighted that teams in the semi-finals are playing according to the net run rate.
