The possibility of a significant political alliance forming in Balochistan before the 2024 elections has emerged.
According to sources, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Nawaz Sharif, is expected to visit Balochistan soon, and this could lead to a major political alliance in the province. The ruling party in the province, the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), could form an alliance with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and the Pakistan Muslim League (N), according to reports.
After the alliance, these three parties are expected to jointly contest elections in Balochistan, and the decision on the future Chief Minister will be made through negotiations.
There are reports that senior leader and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Jam Kamal, could join the PML(N) on the condition of being made Chief Minister. Additionally, before forming the alliance, the JUI had already set the condition of making Maulana Abdul Ghafur Haideri the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
