In a surprise development, ECP orders probe into RTS failure in 2018 elections after a gap of two years

Islamabad: In a surprise development, ECP orders probe into RTS failure in 2018 elections after a gap of two years.Election Commission of Pakistan Chairman Sikandar Sultan Raja in a major development has ordered investigation into failure of RTS system during 2018 general elections when PTI came into power.

A team of National Database Registration Authority (Nadra), the creator of the system, briefed the ECP team about legal aspects of the matter.

Following the meeting, the head of the electoral body ordered probe to determine the causes of its failure in order to determine the next course of action.

RTS is an online system, which was used for the first time in the Pakistan’s election history in 2018 to relay the results from all polling stations across the country to the ECP heardquarters.
