Pakistan responds over latest escalation between Iran and America

ISLAMABAD - -- Pakistan says it is closely monitoring the regional situation and escalating tensions between Iran and the US.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal while responding to a question in his weekly press briefing in Islamabad about the escalating tensions in the Middle East — where the US has deployed an aircraft carrier, bombers and a strike force — said: “We are closely monitoring the situation and will keep you informed.”

Reiterating Pakistan’s position, he said the country supported resolution of all issues through dialogue.

Earlier Iran and Pakistan in the joint statement issued after the conclusion of Prime Minister Imran Khan's two-day official visit to Iran, have stressed the need on swift and complete implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) by other states considering the full compliance of the Islamic Republic of Iran to its provisions.
