Punjab Budget 2016-2017 to focus on health and education sectors

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Punjab Budget 2016-2017 to focus on health and education sectors

 

Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that the budget 2016-17 of the province is in final stages of formulation.

 

Talking to a private news channel, she said that new opportunities and avenues will be ensured in the budget.

 

She said that additional funds will be provided for education and health sectors.

 

She said that special focus is being given to the development of far-flung and backward areas of the province.

 

Dr Ayesha also said that Punjab Budget 2016-17 was being finalized, while considering reliable economic progress and keeping an eye on the hurdles like energy shortage, security situation and shortage of trained human resource.

 

She said that energy shortage issue was a priority and the youngsters would also be provided with special training which was the demand of international market, and a decrease in unemployment would be observed.

 

The minister said deserving people would be provided with interest-free loans to start business.

 

Replying to a question, she said that focus will be laid on completion of ongoing schemes in next year's development programme.

 

Those schemes which are near completion will also be given preference. She said the schemes which were not included in ADP last year will be included in the budget of current fiscal year.

 

The provincial finance minster said steps were being taken to provide facilities to the poor.
