ISLAMABAD - Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi makes key demand against the Superior Court Judges. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that assets statements should also be taken from judges.
He made this demand while attending a meeting of the National Assembly standing committee being chaired by Riaz Fatyana.
He said that Form B, which is about assets and liabilities, should also be taken from the judges. Abbasi said that politicians submit their asset declarations every year.
“Are only politicians corrupt in Pakistan?” he questioned, adding that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should demand details from every government employees. The practice would unveil several hidden faces, the PML-N bigwig said.
“NAB told me that I did not involve in corruption but misuse of authority,” Abbasi said. Slamming the ant-graft buster, he said that the department made assets beyond mean case against politicians when it finds nothing.
The NAB is being used against politicians, he said, adding that justice is not served by accountability courts.
To which, Fitiana said that the current NAB chief has been appointed by Abbasi. In response, the PML-N leader remarked in satirical way: “I did everything wrong except appointing NAB chairman.
He went on to say that former premier Nawaz Sharif did all things wrong except two, adding the he will not share further details about it. His comments later spark laugh in the meeting.
Abbasi said that the NAB chief has taken action against both who had appointed him.
