Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif will inaugurate a scheme to provide free android smart phones to 110,000 farmers in the province tomorrow.
Spokesman of Agriculture Department Shakeel Uppal told Radio Pakistan Lahore correspondent that the objective of the scheme is to keep the farmers updated about Agriculture Department's recommendations about their crops.
He said that the registered farmers under Khadim-e-Punjab Kissan Package will have to pay 500 to 1000 rupees for acquiring one smart mobile phone.
The Spokesman said that the government will also provide free-of-cost one GB internet data per month to the farmers. APP/AFP
