Turkish President Erdogan snubbed by US authorities at Muhammad Ali funeral

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been snubbed by US authorities at Muhammad Ali funeral as he was stopped to place a piece of cloth from Kaaba on Ali’s coffin.

As per details, Turkish President wanted to speak at Muhammad Ali funeral to pay tribute to him for highlighting champion boxer’s services as well as he wanted to place a piece of cloth from kabba at Ali’s coffin but he was refused to do so by funeral organizers.

After snubbing by US authorities, Turkish President left for Turkey without attending Muhammad Ali funeral. US authorities refused to accept Recep Tayyib Erdogan desires when he arrived to attend Muhammad Ali funeral.

US media reports stated that Turkish President expressed his desire that Turkish Islamic affair body head would recite Quran at coffin of Muhammad Ali but US authorities refused to accept it. He also wanted to place piece of cloth from Kabba at Ali’s coffin but Turkish President was pushed back by organizers.

Sources further claimed that clash between US security service personnel and Turkish bodyguards took place and they exchanged harsh words after that Turkish president cut short his trip and left for Turkey.
