US top envoy in Qatar to break deal between Taliban and Afghan government

The US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad has arrived in Doha, Qatar to continue determined diplomacy in pursuit of a peace agreement between the Afghan government and Taliban.
In his series of Tweets, he said the US President Joe Biden has made clear in his recent remarks that a negotiated settlement is the only solution to the Afghan issue and America’s military engagement in Afghanistan is coming to an end.
Zalmay Khalizad said we will work vigorously with all Afghan parties and regional and international stakeholders to try and help the sides find a path to ending this war.
He said the any solution to the Afghan issue should ensure Afghanistan's security, unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and end the agony of the Afghan people.
