Ratto Dero-Khuzdar section of M-8 Motorway to be opened

ISLAMABAD: (APP) National Assembly's Standing Committee on Communications was informed on Wednesday that Ratto Dero- Khuzdar section of Ratto Dero-Gwadar Motorway (M-8) would be opened for traffic by first week of April this year.
Secretary Communications and Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Shahid Ashraf Tarar informed the meeting that the opening of this section would open new vistas of development for people of Sindh and Balochistan.
The meeting was held to consider the detail budgetary proposals relating to Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the year 2017-18 of National Highway Authority (NHA).
The meeting was presided over by Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi, MNA.
The NHA chairman said that work on all NHA road projects was going on smoothly and there was no sick project with on exception.
He said when he took over several NHA projects were in the category of sick projects but now the situation has totally changed.
The committee was informed that during the fiscal year 2017-18 all the ongoing projects of the Communication Ministry will be completed and no new project will be commenced.
The Committee considered the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the year 2017-18 National Highway Authority (NHA) and expressed satisfaction over its performance of NHA.
The Committee also directed to complete the ongoing projects as soon as possible.

Usman Khan Tarakai and officials of the Ministries of Communications and Planning and Development attended the meeting.
