Pakistan Customs foil currency smuggling bid

PESHAWAR: (APP) Customs authorities have foiled smuggling attempt of Pakistani currency to Afghanistan and recovered a collective amount of Rs.4.3 million in two separate actions at Customs Station Torkham.
During the actions the two accused were also arrested after registering cases against htem.
In first incident, Pakistan currency amounting to Rs.1.5 million were recovered from an Afghan bound passenger, Musafir Shah son of Sarfaraz Shah, resident of Mangal Jalalpura, district Abbottabad during departure scanning search while in second incident Pakistani rupees worth 2.8 million were recovered from Roohullah son of Haji Mohammad Omar, resident of Landay Saddak, Charsadda Road, Peshawar.
In both cases, the alleged accused failed in proving legal documents of the currency and so the customs authorities after taking the amount of Rs.4.3 million into posession took both into custody.
