Pakistan trade deficit reduced by $1.1 billion in FY 2019

ISLAMABAD - Finance Minister Asad Umar says economy visibly responding to the stabilization after measures taken by the PTI Government, which the PML-N Government left in a danger zone.

In a tweet, he said trade data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows that exports in January 2019 were higher as compared to 2018 while imports were lower and as a result trade deficit reduced by more than 1.1 billion dollar or 31.7%.

The Finance Minister said from July to December, deficit in trade of services downed 800 million dollar or 29% vs same period last year, which shows an improvement even more pronounced than the improvement trade of goods.
