FM calls for political settlement of Afghan issue

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has called for a political settlement of Afghan issue through an intra Afghan reconciliation process.
Speaking in the National Assembly, he said a consensus and convergence have evolved on the international level for a political settlement of the Afghan issue.
He said the United States, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Afghan Taliban have unanimous views to sit together to look forward to a political settlement.
Regarding, Pakistan’s initiative to open Kartarpur corridor, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said it was the long pending issue since 1988. He expressed the hope the Indian government will also review its policy in Kashmir and facilitate people living on both sides of the Line of control to meet each other.
