KP Assembly to celebrate Christmas for the first time in history
PESHAWAR:Christmas celebrations will be held for the first time in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to express solidarity with the Christian community, said Speaker Asad Qaisar and Deputy Speaker Dr. Mehr Taj Rooghani during a Christmas cake cutting ceremony held here on Monday.

The KP Assembly adding a new chapter in its glorious tradition by celebrating the Christmas within the precinct of the assembly building, they said.

The KP Government of PTI has allowed the Christians to celebrate Christmas in an independent manner.Minority leader of PTI Javed Piyara, Bishop Arnest Jackob, Bishop Joseph, Bishop Shahzad Murad and Bishop Hashmat, representatives of Hindu and Sikh communities were present on the occasion.

Speaker Asad Qaisar and Deputy Speaker Dr.Mehr Taj Roghani in their addresses on the occasion, said Islam teaches brotherhood and promotion of peace and harmony and the same were the teachings of Hazrat Essa (AS).

Extending felicitations to the Christians on the eve of Christmas, they lauded their role in creation of Pakistan and hoped the imperative role in development and prosperity of the country would continue in the future.– APP
