Punjab Prisons Management Information System launched

LAHORE: (APP) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Prisons has said that speedy information will be available about prisoners on one click with the launch of Prison Management Information System (PMIS) in the 20 Punjab prisons.
Addressing the seminar to launch PMIS in the Punjab prisons at a local hotel on Wednesday, he said all prisoner related data and operations in the provincial prisons have been computerized through the designing of PMIS with the support from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
The DIG Prisons said the data and information about the prisoners would be shared with the courts, police and the sister agencies, adding that the system was being installed in 20 prisons across Punjab.
