John Kerry becomes first US Foreign Secretary to visit Hiroshima 

TOKYO: John Kerry has become the first US Foreign Secretary to visit Hiroshima which was targeted by US atomic bomb in 1945 during the World War ll.

 

That was the first atomic bomb fired ever which killed thousands of people.

 

Kerry said “It is a moment that I hope will underscore to the world the importance of peace and the importance of strong allies working together to make the world safer and, ultimately, we hope to be able to get rid the world of weapons of mass destruction.

 

As per report, media considered that Kerry wants to apologize   Japan on behalf of US but a senior US official refused the arguments.

 

US official said “If you are asking whether the secretary of state came to Hiroshima to apologize, the answer is no.”

 

“If you are asking whether the secretary and I think all Americans and all Japanese are filled with sorrow at the tragedies that befell so many of our countrymen, the answer is yes,” he added.
