In a fresh attack, 11 policemen killed and wounded by Afghan Taliban

KUNDUZ CITY – Four policemen have been killed and seven others wounded in aTaliban attack in the Aliabad district of northern Kunduz province, anofficial said on Sunday.

A well-placed source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told PajhwokAfghan News the militants attacked a security check-post in the Ramazanvillage of the district late on Saturday night.

Four policemen were killed and seven others wounded, he said, adding theassault was repulsed and casualties inflicted on militant. The source,however, was unaware of the exact figures.

Allah Mohammad, a resident of the area, said: “It was 1:30pm when the clasherupted. Both sides used heavy and light weapons, but the exact number ofcasualties is yet to be known.”

He said the firefight also resulted in the firing of a rocket that hit acivilian house but there was no report about casualties. There has been noword yet from Taliban.
