ISLAMABAD – *Lahore High Court announces verdict in Hamza Shahbaz Sharifbail plea.*
The Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed on Tuesday the bail petition ofPakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz in the moneylaundering case.
On February 6, the high court granted bail to the PML-N leader in theRamzan Sugar Mills case.
A two-member bench of the high court had said that it will announce itsverdict regarding Hamza’s bail petition in the money laundering case onFebruary 11 (today).
Last year in April, an accountability court had indicted both Hamza and hisfather Shehbaz Sharif in the case. Both father and son had pleaded notguilty to the charges framed against them.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Hamza last year onJune 11 after his bail petitions were rejected by the LHC.
NAB has accused the PML-N leaders of misusing authority by using publicfunds for the construction of a bridge to facilitate the Ramzan mills.
In December, the PML-N leader moved the LHC seeking bail in the RamzanSugar Mills case.
