Pakistan makes strict demands from Afghanistan government

Interim Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani announced that a formal diplomatic protest had been made to the Afghan charge d’affaires regarding the recent terrorist attack on two military posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Chitral district.

During a press conference, Minister Jilani stated that Pakistan had summoned the charge d’affaires to Islamabad and strongly expressed its disapproval of the incident.

He emphasized that it was the Afghan government's responsibility to prevent cross-border attacks originating from its territory and urged them to quell groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Minister Jilani described the Chitral incident as regrettable and underlined that the Pakistani government was treating such occurrences with utmost seriousness.

He concluded by demanding that the Afghan government take measures to ensure the non-recurrence of such incidents. On Wednesday, four security personnel lost their lives, and over 16 terrorists were killed in a firefight along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The terrorists had launched an assault on two security checkpoints in the southern region of Chitral
