Pakistan decides to take strong action over terrorists infiltration from Afghanistan soil

On Sunday, Pakistan sternly declared its determination to confront the resurgence of terrorism, prompted by a terrorist attack on two military posts located in the Lower Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, in a press conference held in Islamabad, urged the Afghan government to adhere to the Doha Agreement's provisions, ensuring that Afghan territory remains inviolable for hostile activities against any nation.
Mr. Bugti asserted that the terrorists responsible for the attack, affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), had infiltrated from Afghanistan. Pakistan pledged to respond resolutely to the renewed threat of terrorism and protect every inch of its territory. He applauded the people of Chitral for their support of the Pakistan Army during this challenging period, emphasizing that no one would be permitted to disrupt peace through the use of force.
Sarfraz Bugti further emphasized the responsibility of defending every part of the country and highlighted the Pakistan Army's robust response to counter the terrorist threat. Pakistan has recently experienced an escalation in terrorist activities, particularly in the regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the termination of the ceasefire between the government and the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in November of the previous year.
Notably, the attack in Chitral resulted in the martyrdom of four Pakistan Army soldiers, with 12 terrorists being eliminated on the Pak-Afghan border. The Army's media wing disclosed that intelligence had indicated terrorist movement in the Nuristan and Kunar provinces of Afghanistan, and timely action by security forces led to the successful elimination of a dozen terrorists.
The day before, Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani confirmed that Pakistan had issued a demarche to Afghanistan in response to the terrorist attack in Chitral. This reflects Pakistan's resolute commitment to safeguarding its national security and stability amidst rising threats from across the border.
