After winning the second One Day International (ODI) match against South Africa, Australia has claimed the top position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI rankings.
According to the newly released ICC ODI rankings, Australia is now at the top with 121 ratings, while Pakistan is second with 120 ratings, and India is third with a rating of 114.
Australia's decision to bowl after winning the toss in the recent match against South Africa, along with their strong bowling performance, proved beneficial. Australia defeated South Africa by a significant margin of 123 runs in the second match of the five-match ODI series.
As a result, Australia has dethroned Pakistan as the world number one ODI team. Pakistan had recently claimed the top position in the ICC ODI rankings after a clean sweep against Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series.
Now, Pakistan has another golden opportunity to become the world number one ODI team if they win their match against India in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup.
