In response, Mitchell Marsh displayed unwavering confidence in his team, predicting that Australia would indeed reach the World Cup final, where they would face Pakistan. Michael Vaughan asked, "Who do you think will win? India, Pakistan, or England?" After some thought, Mitchell Marsh replied, "I honestly believe Australia will be in the final against Pakistan.
His statement of excluding India from the World Cup final and including Pakistan didn't go well with Indian fans who heavily criticised and mocked him on social media.
