PTI government vows massive reforms in education system of Pakistan

*ISLAMABAD - PTI government has decided to revamp the education system ìn Pakistan.*

*Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood on Monday said all out efforts would be made to improve the education system.*

“The education system is facing numerous challenges which will be tackled according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he said while chairing a meeting of National Task Force for Education Reforms in Islamabad.

Shafqat Mahmood said focus would be made on technical training.

Earlier in a statement, he said education was the topmost priority of the incumbent government in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The federal minister said they would work in coordination with all the provinces and provide education to all as per the constitution.

He said it was alarming to know that more than 20 million children were out of schools and they would work hard with provinces to increase enrollment rate in the country.

Shafqat vowed that National Education Policy 2018 will be launched soon, whereas skill development was equally important component and the ministry will take it as a challenge.

World Bank Country Director Patchamuthu Illangovan has offered assistance in the promotion of education in Pakistan.

The education minister told the World Bank official and his delegation that Pakistan was currently facing various challenges in education sector and that the government was fully committed to resolve them.

“There is also the challenge of providing quality education and removing discrimination in education system and last but not the least is a challenge of skill development,” he added.
