16 member Pakistani squad leaves for Asia Cup

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan cricket team will land today in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Dubai Airport for participating in the Asia Cup 2018.

The 16 member squad under the leadership of Sarafaz Ahmed along with other official representatives will depart from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.

The squad includes:

- Sarfaraz Ahmed (c & wk), - Fakhar Zaman, - Imam-ul-Haq, - Shan Masood, - Haris Sohail, - Babar Azam, - Shoaib Malik, - Asif Ali, - Mohammad Nawaz, - Shadab Khan, - Fahim Ashraf, - Mohammad Amir, - Junaid Khan, - Shaheen Shah Afridi, - Hassan Ali, - Usman Khan Shinwari.

Pakistan will play its first match against Hong Kong, which qualified for the tournament by beating UAE in Asia Cup Qualifiers, on September 16.

Pakistan’s group includes India and Hong Kong, while the other group features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afganistan. ------------------------------

The tournament will begin from September 15 with a match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan will be playing its toughest match of the year against India on September 19 and all cricketing fans would be glued to the television screen once the match begins. The top two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals.
