US - Iran on a brink of war over Israel?

On Monday, the top general of the United States issued a warning to Iran, urging them to refrain from becoming entangled in the crisis occurring in Israel. He emphasized his desire to prevent the conflict from escalating further. This caution came in the wake of an incident where the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets into northern Israel.
The White House had made a statement earlier on the same day, implicating Iran in the crisis.
However, it's worth noting that the United States had no intelligence or concrete evidence linking Iran directly to the attacks carried out by the Palestinian group Hamas in Israel.
When asked about his message for Iran, General Charles Q. Brown, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, succinctly stated, "Not to get involved."
Tragically, Israeli shelling in Lebanon resulted in the deaths of at least three Hezbollah fighters on that Monday. Additionally, Israel reported the loss of one of its officers during a previous cross-border raid, which was claimed by Palestinians in Lebanon.
This cross-border violence marked a significant expansion of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian fighters in Gaza, now extending to the Israeli-Lebanese border further to the north.
It's important to remember that Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel engaged in a brutal month-long war back in 2006, further adding to the complexity of the current situation.
