The United Nations Security Council has rejected the American demand to condemn Hamas for its actions against Israel. The Biden administration states that the United States stands firmly with Israel.
According to reports from American news agencies, during an emergency session of the UN Security Council, the United States requested all 15 members to denounce Hamas for its violent and terrorist attacks against Israel. However, the council members did not take immediate action on the American request.
Later, the U.S. Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood told journalists that some countries were ready to condemn Hamas's attacks, but all the members of the council did not agree on this matter.
The Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, stated that they condemn all attacks on civilians. He emphasized the importance of an immediate cessation of hostilities, ending the conflict, and restarting negotiations after years of deadlock.
Previously, the Chinese Ambassador Zhang Jun also expressed condemnation for all attacks on civilians but did not mention Hamas. He stressed the need to prevent the situation from further escalation, avoid more civilian casualties, and return the parties to a two-state solution.
