SHOCKING: PDM Government spent Rs.10 billion on political advertising

Despite the prevailing economic crisis, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government allocated a substantial sum of Rs10 billion for advertising across TV channels, newspapers, and digital media, as per an ARY News report released on Tuesday.

A report detailing the PDM government's advertising expenditures from March 2022 to August 2023 was presented to the Senate's standing committee.

Notably, the previous PDM government spent a significant portion of the national treasury on advertising, with ads worth Rs348 million allocated to the Geo Network. Furthermore, the PDM government disbursed Rs309.1 million for advertisements on the Dunya Network, Rs296.9 million on Hum TV Network, Rs282.8 million on Express Network, Rs268.3 million on Samaa TV, Rs217.8 million on the news channel owned by the caretaker Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi, and Rs21.7 million on ARY Network.

These advertising expenditures were distributed as follows: Rs3.5 billion for print media, over Rs5 billion for electronic media, and Rs1.23 billion for digital media platforms.
