The Adiala jail superintendent informed a special court on Tuesday that the imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister is not permitted to communicate with his sons.
Imran Khan, the PTI Chairman, was incarcerated on August 5 due to his conviction in the Toshakhana case and subsequently transferred to Adiala Jail in the cipher case.
During a hearing under the Official Secrets Act to grant PTI chairman the opportunity to speak with his sons from Adiala Jail, the jailer stated that individuals arrested under this act cannot engage in international communication.
Judge Abual Hasnat presided over the PTI's plea and, following the jailer's response, requested the Jail SOPs regarding prisoners' telephone conversations with relatives, adjourning the case until October 18.
Notably, Imran Khan is presently in Adiala Jail due to the cipher case, following a transfer from Attock Prison as ordered by the Islamabad High Court CJ. PTI Chief Imran Khan and Vice Chairman were charged for intentionally misplacing a diplomatic cipher copy.
