Indian police arrest several people including JKLF leader in IOK

ISLAMABAD: Indian police arrested several people including Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, in Srinagar and other areas.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the police arrested half a dozen youth from Langate and Pulwama areas. The police also arrested the JKLF leader, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, after raiding his residence in Illahi Bagh area of Srinagar.
These arrests were made to prevent people from conducting campaign for the boycott of the sham polls for the local bodies. The second phase of the local bodies elections is being conducted, today, in Srinagar, Pulwama and many other areas of the territory. The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for the complete boycott of the farcical elections.
The Indian occupation authorities have already put almost all Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Hilal Ahmed War and Qazi Yasir under house arrest or in detention to stop them from conducting the election boycott campaign.
