Govt approaching IMF to bring country out of economic crisis: Minister for Information

Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has categorically stated that the accountability process will continue despite hue and cry of the corrupt elements.
Speaking at a function in connection with Postal Day in Islamabad today (Tuesday), he said the government is taking decisions to help the country stand on its own feet.
He said the Government wants to mobilize resources to run affairs of the state but it cannot add more burden on the poor.
Referring to the government's decision to go to IMF, he said the country presently has foreign exchange reserves just to cover imports worth one and a half month.
He said the Pakistan has to pay back loans worth eight billion dollars this year.
The Minister recalled that the country's foreign debt stood at just 6000 billion rupees in 2008 but reached 28000 billion rupees during the last ten years.
Fawad Chaudhry said that reforms will be introduced in the institutions to help them stand on their own feet.
About losses of different institutions, the Information Minister said the people are bearing the burden of these losses.
