Top International Cricketer announces retirement after Pakistan-England match

In Kolkata, Dawid Malan expressed that Saturday's match against Pakistan might mark his final appearance for England amid discussions of a potential 50-overs reset following their disappointing World Cup title defense.

Reflecting on the team's struggles, the 36-year-old acknowledged the need for decisions about the future, stating, "Tomorrow could be the last game of cricket for England for me and it could still be the start of another journey. Who knows? We'll only find out when the dust settles."

Malan, the second oldest in the team, emphasized his dedication to playing for England but recognized the inevitability of decisions regarding his future, saying, "I guess there are decisions to be made over the next couple of days when the dust has settled, and we'll see where we end up."

Despite uncertainties, he affirmed his readiness to contribute, noting, "If they want experience around, someone who's played quite a bit and played in the way that the team wants to play, I'd love to still be around and do it."
