MQM takes a big U Turn ditching PMLN

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has clarified the nature of discussions between his party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
He asserted that there is no electoral alliance between the two parties. Instead, the focus has been on mutual support for ensuring fair and transparent elections. Siddiqui made these statements during an interview with a private TV channel.
During the interview, Siddiqui pointed out that the joint declaration resulting from the meetings with PML-N leadership did not explicitly mention the formation of an electoral alliance. He provided insights into the historical context of MQM's interactions with various political elites, including meetings with leaders like Nawaz Sharif.
Siddiqui emphasized that crucial discussions, such as jointly contesting elections, forming a government, and deciding on the chief minister, have not occurred.
He highlighted that MQM-P typically does not engage in electoral alliances but hinted at the possibility of seat adjustments, which are yet to be finalized.
Addressing government positions, Siddiqui clarified that discussions about the chief minister and ministries were not part of the current agenda. He mentioned that his party might not include such matters in the agreements at this point in time, leaving room for further developments in the political landscape.
