Govt appoints Syed Shabbar Zaidi as honorary chairman of FBR for two years

Government has appointed Syed Shabbar Zaidi as honorary chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue for a period of two years, with immediate effect.
A notification has been issued in this regard.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has deplored character assassination of talented and professional Chartered Accountant Shabbar Zaidi, who has been appointed as Chairman Federal Board of Revenue.
In a tweet message, she said Shabbar Zaidi is the highest taxpaying chartered accountant in the country and the previous government has given him an award for paying the highest tax.
The Special Assistant said Shabbar Zaidi is highly respectable chartered accountant and his character assassination is condemnable and regrettable.
