Pakistani Business School ranked in World Top Schools: QS Rankings

Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has been ranked among the world’s top 300 business schools by a British ranking agency.

While Harvard University in the United States topped the ranking, followed by London Business School in the United Kingdom, SDSB at LUMS ranked at 251.

Being the only Pakistani university to be featured on the list issued by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), LUMS took to its official Facebook page to announce the achievement.

“LUMS is honored to announce that the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) now ranks amongst the top 300 business schools globally, as ranked by QS World University Rankings for 2017,” the page read.

“SDSB, identified under the ‘Business and Management’ studies subject group at LUMS has excelled in research, teaching methods and top placements around the world and has achieved this milestone owing to its incredible faculty and talented students,” it added.

The rankings for each subject were based on four factors:

Academic reputation

Citations per paper

Employer reputation

H-index citations

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017 cover a total of 46 disciplines – highlighting the world’s top-performing universities in each academic area. The rankings are compiled annually to help prospective students identify the leading universities in a particular subject. Research citations, along with the results of major global surveys of employers and academics are used to rank universities.

Last year, six Pakistani institutes of higher education were ranked among the world’s top 800 universities by QS rankings.
