Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman says Gilgit-Chitral-Chaqdra expressway would serve as alternate to Karakorum Highway in future.
Presiding over a briefing session in Gilgit on feasibility of the project, he said this expressway will put Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pukhtunkhawa on path of economic development.
The Chief Minister directed for re-alignment in suggested places to make it an international highway.
Member Planning of National Highway Authority Asim Amin gave away briefing to the Chief Minister on feasibility of the project.
Gilgit-Chitral-Chaqdara expressway project was approved by Prime Minister Imran Khan in the recently held meeting of National Economic Council, on request of Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister.
