Quranic education to be included in Schools Syllabus  

ISLAMABAD: Education Minister Balighur Rehman has decided to include Quran education as a compulsory subject in the curriculum.

While giving briefing in Council of Islamic Ideology, Education minister explained that students from one to fifth class will be taught oral Quran reading while sixth to twelfth class student will be taught Quran education with translation.

Balighur Rehman further added that a special period will be started in every class comprising 15 minutes to teach the students regarding Holy Quran education.

He stated that recommendations have been given to provinces and they will inform about their decision after reviewing these recommendations.

The curriculum of Holy Quran has been handed over to Chairman of Council of Islamic Ideology Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani and he will give final decision regarding the draft of curriculum.

Chairman CII said in his statement that it is a good step of education ministry so CII will fully support and cooperate in this regard.
