Lebanese PM pledges to hold early elections August 10, 2020

ISLAMABAD- In Lebanon, Prime Minister Hassan Diab has pledged to hold early elections in the country as a way out of the ongoing crisis following Tuesday's huge explosion in Beirut.

In a televised address, he said we cannot exit the country's structural crisis without holding early parliamentary elections and promised that the issue will be discussed in cabinet tomorrow.

Meanwhile, several thousand people took to the streets protesting and chanting slogans against the government and political establishment. During a fresh demonstration they stormed Foreign Ministry.

Police fired tear gas at stone-throwing demonstrators.
