Low turnout defeat of India's stand on Kashmir: Engr Rasheed

ISLAMABAD (APP): The member of the so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Rasheed, terming the lowest turnout of votes cast in Srinagar parliamentary constituency as a defeat of India's stand on Kashmir has asked India to read writing on the wall and give people of Kashmir their right to self-determination.
Engineer Rasheed in a statement issued in Srinagar said, "If New Delhi has been claiming the huge participation in all elections including those for Panchayats, Parliament and state assembly, held during past decades, as vindication of its stand on Kashmir, then it should show the moral character and courage to confess the lowest turnout in Srinagar parliamentary constituency as defeat of its stand on Kashmir," Kashmir Media Service reported.
He said low or high participation in various elections has nothing to do with the internationally recognised dispute, but it is New Delhi which has often misled the world community by calming conducting successful elections as its victory.
Boycott by masses to by-poll is a slap on New Delhi's arrogant behaviour and also enough evidence to expose so-called Indian media for its lies to defame people of Kashmir, he maintained.
